HOT WEATHER SUGARING
Here are a few simple tips to help you stay in control during the hottest months of the year.
Many hair removal studios, especially sugaring studios, are located in beach towns, resort areas, and places where summer temperatures can get seriously high. And when the weather heats up, sugar paste often has a mind of its own.

Choose a firmer paste
One of the easiest adjustments you can make is switching to a firmer consistency. During summer, many professionals find that moving one density up from their usual choice helps maintain better control throughout the service.
Keep your room cool
Your room temperature matters more than you think. Air conditioning isn’t just for comfort. It helps create a more stable working environment for both you and your paste. Even a few degrees can make a noticeable difference.
Remember: your client brings the heat, too
This is something many professionals overlook.
A client who just walked in from a hot parking lot, the beach, or a sunny afternoon carries that heat with them. Their skin temperature can be significantly higher than normal, which directly affects how the paste behaves during the service.
So if the paste starts softening faster than expected, don’t immediately assume you’re doing something wrong. Sometimes you’re simply working against a much warmer skin surface.
Give the skin a moment to cool down
If possible, allow your client a few minutes to settle into the air-conditioned room before starting the service. This small pause can make the treatment noticeably easier and more comfortable.
Don’t skip powder
During hot weather, clients tend to perspire more, even when they don’t realize it. Proper skin preparation becomes even more important. A good drying powder can help absorb excess moisture and improve paste control.
Adjust your expectations
Summer is different. The same technique, the same room, and the same paste may behave differently in July than they do in January. That’s normal.
The key is not fighting the season but adapting to it.
A few small adjustments can turn a frustrating summer appointment into a smooth and successful service.
